Big L and Mac Miller on a track is all my ears needed to hear in 2025 so thank you rap gods… Thank you Mass Appeal… Thank you Nas… Thank you the Big L and Mac Miller Estates… Thanks to the producers… Thanks to Pale Jay on the feature… Have you heard “Forever” yet?? If not, go listen… it’s on Big L’s new album that dropped on Halloween. Yup, I did say new Big L album… Crazy that L was taken from us 25+ years ago. Shot 9 times in the face and chest and still an unsolved case… damn… Big L was different… supported by the main stream… supported by the underground… legendary emcee… to hear him on a new album is so dope… to hear him with Mac Miller tho? You know… Mac said that Big L was his favorite rapper so it’s only right we get this here in 2025 right??
Mac Miller…. He was so dope… He is so dope! He could hang with any emcee on a track whether underground or mainstream. You would see Mac on a track with Sean Price and go yup… this is dope. You would hear him on a track with Migos and go yup… that works. that track off of the Faces mixtape? Insomniak? Bruh… go listen… Mac Miller was the biggest hip hop head around. I remember hearing about him geeking out when he met De La Soul. He had a De La tattoo I think and showed them? Does my memory serve me correct? I think so… The point is this… Mac Miller is dope… Mac Miller was dope… Mac got taken from us from an OD… Rough… But Mac lives on tho…
So here Mass Appeal goes on one of the craziest runs you’ll ever see from a record label dropping albums from Slick Rick, Mobb Deep, Ghostface, Raekwon, De La Soul, and Big L… For the Big L and Mobb Deep albums, you had to support the legacy of 2 fallen emcees (RIP Prodigy) which is a very tall task being that both emcees are pushing clouds up in heaven… How many extra verses do these guys have lying around? Who selected what verse(s) were going to be used? Is that Nas? Havoc? ALC? others? We got verses from Mac Miller and Big L here in 2025 on a track and it’s great… but wait… THEN YOU ADD PALE JAY TO THE MIX?!??!?!??!!?!?!?! Seriously tho… Does Nas control the strings on all of these moves? Is it a team? I have to know… Pale Jay tho….
The curation of this track is a sight to behold. The beat… The verses… The chorus… The overall way it makes you feel as a listener… This is just all so…. GREAT. Go listen to the new Big L and Mac Miller song wherever you listen to music. Share it with a friend. Look into more music like it. I guarantee it makes you feel something.
