Game 7 of the World Series

November 1, 2025 Tim C.

When you talk Game 7 of the World Series, you have to first take a step back and realize what’s at stake. The regular season is 162 games long… That is a long season for any athlete. And now you have to play another month as pressure builds with each inning… each out… each pitch. Some people love the pressure… Others, not so much. But when I go back and think through game 7 of world series all-time highlights, a few come to mind for me. First… Dexter Fowler from the Cubs leading off the game in Cleveland against Corey Kluber and he just barrels up and gets way hype between 1st and 2nd… LOVE THIS.

Luis Gonzalez off of Mariano with that bloop hit? The jumping up and down? The fans raging? That was pretty cool and it was done in the least expected way. Just a little bloop that dropped.

How about Mazeroski in 1960 with that walkoff bomb off of that 58 mph hanging curve? The scene looks so dope. The homerun just goes into a neighborhood? Into a forest? The crowd absolutely raging. This is dope.

How about Jack Morris throwing 10 shutout innings for the 1-0 win for the Twinkies? 1991 World Series Game 7 monster season right here for the Minnesota Twins.

How about Sandy Koufax though? 1965 never been fresher on your screen. Sandy just absolutely dealing with that crazy 12-6 curve and stuff that just froze everybody. That windup is crazy too… Dudes in 1965 were nowhere close here.

That bases clearing double from Garrett Anderson back when the Angels beat the Giants? Garrett rifled this and just mashed it down the line…. Joe Buck yelling “RIPPED” is legendary too. Just a cool baseball moment here in the 3rd inning of the 2002 Game 7 World Series.

Roberto Clemente hit a beach ball over the wall which was a sight to see. He has to wait ages for the hanger to get to him and he just unloads on it back in the 1971 World Series to help the Pittsburg Pirates get up in the game to eventually win… This is great.

Staying on the Pirates, here’s Willie Stargell from 1979… But not just Willie Stargell… Just get into the uniforms and style as a whole… this is straight pimp ish from the Pirates and the Orioles had drip too… Does this win the overall style world series?

I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of heroics we get tonight… Scherzer? Shohei? I’m here for it all! and i know this isn’t a game 7 world series below but i just have to include joe carter winning it for the Jays back in ‘93.
